SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

FOR UNDERGRADUATE & TRADE SCHOOL APPLICANTS

Will be awarded to graduating high school seniors who attend a Prince William County, Manassas City or Manassas Park School systems and who plan on attending a two-year or four-year university/college or trade school.

CAPAC'S MISSION

The Creative And Performing Arts Center (CAPAC) provides underrepresented youth and adults with educational opportunities in theater and in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines to promote problem-solving collaboration, and leadership skills.

SCHOLARSHIPS DESCRIPTION

The Creative And Performing Arts Center will award five $1,000.00 scholarships to five deserving students. The five scholarships are described below:

The Albert J. Williams Theater Scholarship – $1000
Graduating seniors applying and accepted to a 4-year college/university as a theater major can apply for the Albert J. Williams Theater Scholarship.  Applicants must show a grade of B or higher on their transcript in their theater classes or have a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher if they have not had previous theater course experiences.

The Gregory Robinson S.T.E.M Scholarship – $1000
Graduating seniors applying and accepted to a 4-year college/university and applying as a science, technology, engineering, and math (S.T.E.M.) majors are eligible to apply for the Gregory Robinson S.T.E.M. Scholarship.  Applicants must have a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher.

The Jennie Dean Trade School Scholarship – $1000
Graduating seniors applying and accepted to a training program that prepares students with skills for careers in the following industries are eligible to apply electrical, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, welding, roofing, and masonry. To be eligible, students must apply to a technical college, a training academy, or a quick-start program. Applicants must show a grade of B or higher on their transcript in their technical education classes or have a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher if no previous technical course experience has been taken.

The Gwendolyn T. Jackson Volunteer Scholarship – $1000
Graduating seniors who are applying to a 4-year college or university and have at least 100 hours of documented community service/volunteer hours, are eligible to apply for the Volunteer Scholarship. Applicants must have a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher.

The KEYS ACADEMIC Scholarship – $1000
Graduating seniors applying and accepted to a 4-year college/university can apply for the KEYS Academic Scholarship. Applicants must have a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher and a resume reflecting a successful balance between academic and extracurricular activities. The KEYS Academic Scholarship is not major-specific.

HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR APPLICANTS

The Creative And Performing Arts Center (CAPAC) is honored to announce our scholarships for graduating high school seniors who attend a Prince William County, Manassas City or Manassas Park school systems.

CAPAC’s Scholarship Program provides scholarships to deserving high school graduating seniors pursuing paths of study at either a two-year or four-year educational institution or trade school.  Our organization aims to promote and assist students who are readying themselves for college through this essay competition.  The award recipient will receive a stipend toward tuition at the college/university or trade school of their choice.

Scholarship recipients must attend their senior scholarship award program to receive the scholarship award.  The Scholarship Committee requests that all completed application materials, including a color photo of the applicant, be submitted electronically to SCHOLARS@CAPACWEB.ORG.

Please ensure the packet is neat and professionally prepared.  The picture that you provide will be posted on our social media and may be used for our future scholarship publications.

A photo of the applicant must accompany the scholarship application.
